Ready Kids is a Brisbane occupational therapy team on a mission to share occupational therapy ideas and strategies with childcare centres.
Why Ready Kids exists.
Ready Kids began with our founder, Sarah Shakibaie.
Sarah started out in health sciences, with a focus on population health, and a love for translating research into practice. When she became an occupational therapist, she found the other half of that picture.
Working across schools, special schools, and Early Childhood Development Programs, Sarah saw something clearly. The best way to help a child is to support the adults beside them.
So she brought her two passions together: health promotion and occupational therapy. Instead of working with children in isolation, she began sharing practical OT strategies and working alongside educators.

The most effective way to support a child in a Kindy room is to support the educators in that room by embedding evidence-based OT strategies into every interaction, every transition, every daily routine.
